KOFISI is committed to improving the lives of children and young people growing up in challenging environments. By focusing on improving productivity in schools and learning environments, we help and empower them to pursue a better future through the development of their talent and abilities.
A productive classroom – with a well-built desk and focussed place to work from – enables and empowers pupils. Through its Desk for Desk programme, KOFISI has purchased over 300 desks for government run schools in and around Nairobi and Nakuru.
KOFISI has bought over 200 pieces of art from Uweza Art Gallery which supports young artists and school children in Kibera. Kibera is the largest urban slum in Africa. 60% from the sale of every artwork goes to the artist, and the remainder goes to support the work of the gallery.
KOFISI is committed to sourcing quality African products and employing local craftspeople and artisans wherever possible. More than 70% of furniture and fittings in every Centre is sourced or made locally. The work of over 40 fundis and local artisans is featured in our office spaces.
